MISSION:TRANSITION Offers barrier-free ( Universal ) design and renovation services for
clients with special needs or those who want to be prepared for health changes as they
age.
This is accessible design that is practical to implement (for people at any stage) who want the peace of mind that they won't have to move as health circumstances change.
Barrier-free design features include wide aisle ways, wheel chair access knee space under counter tops, sinks, open storage shelves and hooks, ramps from the outside and inside
the home, tilting mirrors, low or no threshold doorways, wide turning areas for wheelchairs and walkers, shower seat and adjustable shower heads, lowered clothes hanging bars,
telephone and intercom systems in the bathroom, elevated or adjustable toilet seats, auto flush toilet, grab bars throughout the home, as needed, lever handles on doors and sinks, motion-sensing lighting, remote control lighting and door locks, and more.
Laurie Zook provides the design, and construction of all of these issues for you. Her extensive background of 19 years in design, space planning and project management, and working with senior citizens and special needs individuals for the past 9 years give her the experience required to update an existing home or work with your builder on a new home.
